So I’ve been looking through my blog, and I realized I haven’t written one remotely close to happy in a while. I apologize for my bout of early-twenties angst; I’ll be honest by saying things aren’t going too well for me in the core of my personal life right now. There have been a lot of things on my mind, and unfortunately, I do get the feeling more often than not that these are things that I would much rather keep to myself instead of confide in someone else.
BUT – I am definitely in need of a mood booster. I’ve been in a major study slump lately, always just reading the bare minimum of readings for law school – and honestly losing motivation to keep going. I do know I want to finish it, but that isn’t helping me enough for the short-term. I don’t know how I’m going to fix it, but I do know it’s something I need to fix myself.
Happily enough, I am glad to say that I am going to Cebu this weekend for my cousin’s wedding! I am so thrilled to be able to get out of the city. I adore the beach with every fiber of my now pale being, and I am dying to go to the beach to catch some sun, R&R and of course, love in the midst of a huge family reunion, a spectacular beach wedding and bottles, bottles, bottles of champagne and whatever kind of alcohol they have. Cousins have come home, and my own family is flying out tomorrow morning – ugh, the weekend is so close; I could almost taste the salty air.
I think my mom needs a good rest too. I don’t know if any of you know, but she’s been really sick lately. She was confined for so long, and she could barely walk through the errands we had to run right before the wedding. I think the beach trip will be good for her – she is seeing one of her goddaughters off, and she loves the beach almost as much as we do. I definitely have her travel bug, and that makes me a happy beach bum. 🙂
I am really too excited about this trip, because not only does it give me a break from law school, but it also means that my New York trip is getting closer! 🙂 Stay tuned for an excited blog post about that, AND the gorgeous wedding pictures!
